STUDIES OF DR.WESTON A PRICE
In the 1930s, price traveled the globe investigating the relationships between health and diet among native peoples. This was a crucial time, as there were still tribes left to study untouched by civilization. Price identified 16 diverse cultures, Whose diets varied depending on where they lived and what foods were available. For example, Eskimos ate a diet high in fats and protein, and Quetchus Indians ate small amounts of meat and mainly plant-based foods.
Did they believe in ONE diet? No, food sources varied depending on what was available. These diets all contained the following;
- Organic foods
- Whole foods
- animal products
Price never came across a healthy tribe that existed on a diet completely free of meat.
Nutritional experts like Sally Fallon and Dr. Mary Enig highlight the importance of eating balanced meals for improved nutrient availability and the purpose of digestive efficiency.
